Each
woodpecker hole filler and deterrent kit includes
a mixing bucket, one pint each of parts A and B,
a pair of protective latex gloves and a mixing stick.
This kit provides approximately one quart by volume – enough
material to repair a hole the size of a small melon.
You may mix smaller portions of the two parts for
smaller holes and save the remainder for future use
(shelf life is approximately six months). Do not
allow any remaining portions of parts A and B to
come into contact with each other, as the filler
will become unusable.
Instructions:
Wearing the included protective gloves, open the container and thoroughly
mix equal amounts of parts A and B until a uniform color is achieved
with no marbling. Kneading the mixture with two hands works best.
Then fill the hole or damaged area with a putty knife.
Open
or working time with the hole filler is approximately
one hour. You may paint over the repaired area
when curing is complete. Cure time varies with
ambient temperature, but usually is about 24 hours.

Instructions
for use:
Woodpecker Deterrent and Protective Coating Spray is specifically
designed to provide an initial protective skin to cover areas repaired
with Woodpecker Hole Filler and Deterrent from weather conditions
until sufficient cure is obtained. The Spray can also be used on
areas where woodpecker damage is anticipated to help avoid future
damage. This product is a non-reverting, non-oxidizing, protective
latex film that contains a natural taste deterrent. This
non-toxic, environmentally safe bird deterrent works especially well
on woodpeckers and other birds that peck and damage wood or other
surfaces. When applied correctly, this product will slowly emit its
encapsulated deterrent to provide protection from future damage.
Even after the surface deterrent has totally disappeared, protection
is provided whenever the repaired area is pecked, because this action
releases more deterrent encapsulated within the coating.
Directions
for use:
First test the Woodpecker
spray in an out of the way location
to assure that the product blends
into the surface. Some
surface material/coatings may not
react well to the chemicals in
the product. The Paint
additive should be first tested with
a small amount of paint to assure
that the paint dries to the desired
color after application.
Replace the cap with the spray head. Spray over area to be protected
so that a uniform coating is obtained in a manner similar to spray
painting. For best results, apply two coats. Spray quickly over vertical
surfaces to help control dripping and runs. One quart should cover
approximately a 20’ x 20’ area. It is necessary to re-apply
product after it rains. On buildings that have a history of woodpecker
problems reapplication may be necessary if persistent birds return. DO
NOT ATTEMPT TO SPRAY ONTO OR NEAR LIVE ELECTRICAL WIRES!!!! Avoid
touching the liquid. Although this product is safe for general use,
the deterrent scent will remain on the skin, much like perfume, and
may be difficult to remove. Protective gloves should be worn when
using this product. If area is not well ventilated, make sure to
wear a respiratory mask. General clean up can be performed using
soap and warm water. Store excess product in cool, dry area between
34? – 140? F. |
|
|
|
The
additive deterrent is encapsulated within the paint/stain,
thus released each time pecking activity occurs. This
product will provide protection for the life of the
paint or stain used on the home.
Mixing Instructions:
Pour the contents (4 ounces) into a one gallon can of exterior paint
or stain. Be sure to allow sufficient room in the can for mixing.
Stir thoroughly for a minimum of two minutes. Apply paint as normal,
using at least two coats, preferably three. Avoid getting the additive
on your skin or clothing as the aroma may linger for an extended
period. This product is non-toxic to humans and animals, and is environmentally
safe; however the use of protective goggles and rubber gloves is
recommended.

|
Why
it Works:
The product is designed to resemble a large predator bird, creating
fear in the nuisance birds and causing them to depart the area. The "eyes" on
the balloon exaggerate the glaring eyes and gaping mouth of a predator
bird. The bobbing and weaving motion simulate the movements of large
predator bird while the streamers reflect differing amounts of light,
creating the illusion of shadows from a nearby predator in the mind
of the nuisance bird.
Installation
Instructions:
Remove the mylar eyes from the card contained in the package and
place them in the center of each black circle on the balloon to form
the pupil. Tie the mylar streamers to each side of the bottom (plug
area) with the enclosed string. Inflate the balloon carefully. Do
Not Over-Inflate or use a compressor to inflate the balloon because
with high pressure the Scare-Eye may burst. Once
inflated, tie the balloon in your target area, making sure you can
remove it easily to replace it with another color or move it to a
slightly different area for increased effectiveness.
Where
to Use Your Scare-Eye Balloon:
Decks, porches, swimming pools,
boat docks, farm buildings, etc:
The Scare-Eye should be hung in an area that has good access to air
currents to move the balloon frequently as the device relies on movement
to make it's predator illusion more realistic. Install the balloon
at least 6 feet from the ground and in a highly visible location
so the nuisance birds will definitely see it. Keep in mind when
looking for locations to place the balloon that the nuisance birds
must be convinced it is a predator watching them from a view point
area, as well as being a convenient spot that you can exchange balloon
colors and rotate the location by a few feet every few weeks.
Gardens,
farm fields, berry patches, vineyards:
After following instructions above you can attach the inflated balloon
to any type of pole or other structure so that the mylar streamers
are about 1 foot above the highest plants and highly visible to the
birds. The number of Scare-Eyes required to protect an area is proportional
to the size of the plot, but in general 6 Scare-Eyes per acre is
the minimum necessary.
Orchards,
trees:
The Scare-Eye should be installed above trees for maximum effectiveness
so the mylar streamers are about 1 foot above the tree top and highly
visible to the birds. One Scare-Eye per tree is generally sufficient
protection.
How
to Use Your Balloon Effectively:
Scare-Eyes works best by rotating the colors and location of the
balloons every few weeks and in combination with other scare products
like the Octopus or Flash Tape and audio devices such as the Birdgard
or Squawker units. No one color
of balloon should be used solely for more than 3 weeks or remain
the same position for extended periods of time as they will lose
their effectiveness. The regular change in color
and location is necessary to reinforce the illusion of a moving live
predator in the nuisance bird's mind. |

|
Why
it Works:
The product is designed to resemble a large predator bird, creating
fear in the nuisance birds and causing them to depart the area. The "eyes" on
the octopus exaggerate the glaring eyes and gaping mouth of a predator
bird. The bobbing and weaving motion simulate the movements of large
predator bird while the long, reflective, mylar streamers reflect
differing amounts of light, creating the illusion of shadows from
a nearby predator in the mind of the nuisance bird.
Where
to Use Your Scare Octopus:
Decks, porches, swimming pools,
boat docks, farm buildings, etc:
The Scare Octopus should be hung in an area that has good access
to air currents causing it to sway frequently as the device relies
on movement to make it's predator illusion more realistic. Install
the Scare Octopus at least 6 feet from the ground and in a highly
visible location so the nuisance birds will definitely see it. Keep
in mind when looking for locations to place the Scare Octopus that
the nuisance birds must be convinced it is a predator watching them
from a view point area, as well as being a convenient spot that you
can rotate the location by a few feet every few weeks.
Gardens,
farm fields, berry patches, vineyards:
You can attach the Scare Octopus to any type of pole or other structure
so that the mylar streamers are about 1 foot above the highest plants
and highly visible to the birds. The number of Scare Octopi required
to protect an area is proportional to the size of the plot, but in
general 6 Scare Octopi per acre is the minimum necessary.
Orchards,
trees:
The Scare Octopus should be installed above trees for maximum effectiveness
so the mylar streamers are about 1 foot above the tree top and highly
visible to the birds. One Scare Octopus per tree is generally sufficient
protection.
How
to Use Your Scare Octopus Effectively:
The Scare Octopus works best by rotating the location every few weeks
and in combination with other scare products such as the Scare-Eye
Balloons or Flash Tape and audio devices such as the BirdXPeller-Pro
(Woodpecker model). The regular change in location is necessary to
reinforce the illusion of a moving live predator in the woodpecker's
mind. |
|
|
Why
it Works:
This highly reflective, mylar Flash Tape reflects differing amounts
of light while fluttering in the wind, as well as producing a humming
sound, creating the illusion of shadows from a nearby predator in
the mind of the woodpecker.
Where
and how to use:
The mylar Flash Tape can be used virtually anywhere a woodpecker
problem exists or is anticipated, on the eves of your house, in trees,
shrubs, etc.. The Flash Tape should be cut into 2' to 3' long strips,
placed approximately 5' apart and can be easily attached using staples,
tacks, tape or simply tied onto a tree branch. As with all bird
control products, the mylar Flash Tape is most effective when used
in combination with other scare products such as the Scare-Eye Balloons
or Scare Spider and audio devices such as the BirdXPeller-Pro (Woodpecker
model). |

Instructions:
- Lift
up the plush velcro battery cover located on the
spider’s left side.
- Use
a phillips screw driver to unscrew the battery
compartment cover.
- Install
2 “AA” size alkaline batteries (not
included) in the proper (+) (-) positions.
- Place
the cover back on and screw it closed. Then, fold
the velcro flap back to cover up the battery compartment.
- Turn
the power switch to the “on” position
and find a good place to hang the spider by the
loop tied to the end of the web string. Hang the
spider under the eaves of your home where the bird
is attacking. You can hang it on a hook, or attach
it to a pulley system, as shown. The pulley system
allows fast maintenance. Make the string long enough
so you can lower the spider to change the batteries
without the use of a ladder. It is important to
position the spider at least 6 inches away from
the wall so the its legs do not grab the siding
when climbing back up the string. Keep the spider
dry. Use enough units to adequately protect the
areas being attacked. you can check the batteries
by clapping to see if the spider drops.
As
with all bird control products, the Scare Spider
is most effective when used in combination with
other scare products such as the Scare-Eye Balloons
or Scare Octopus and audio devices such as the
BirdXPeller-Pro (Woodpecker model). |

|
1. Position the Scare Streamer bird repellent so the area you wish to protect is within its 105 degree detection area. Avoid pointing this bird deterrent at any objects where movement may cause "false triggering" ie: sidewalks, roads or waterfalls.
2. Adjust the sensitivity dial to the lowest setting that will still pick up your target animal, (see chart on page 6 in the instruction manual included with product).

3. Fine tune the sprinkler to ensure the water covers the area you wish to protect. |

Net
Kit Includes:
1 StealthNet bird net (25' x 25')
1 bag of Net Clips (100)
(screws not included)
Un-Bundling the net:
When you receive your net kit, notice the identification tags that mark each
corner of the net. To unfold the net, locate the corner mark strings, grab
and pull the net out flat. The net will initially appear to be diamond shaped
before being fully stretched out; simply stretch at opposite corners until
the net squares off.
Preparing
the Net:
If the stock sized net you purchased is larger than the problem area, you may
cut it to fit using standard scissors, however do not cut the net to fit the
area until you have attached the net. In other words, install the net, and
then trim off the excess. When you do cut the net, follow a straight line cutting
between each mesh square.
Attaching
the Net:
The net clips can be installed with a variety of screws (wood, self tapping,
etc.) depending upon the substrate to which you are attaching the net. The
net clips hold the net tight against the perimeter wall so that once the net
is in place no openings are created, allowing the birds access.
When
installing clips, place them about 1” in from
the perimeter and space them according to the targeted
bird. For larger birds (pigeons, crows, gulls) the
clips can be placed about every two feet; for sparrows
and other smaller birds space the clips every foot
(if in doubt, space the clips every foot). The clips
should be positioned so that the opening is facing
away from the center of the problem area, so when
you clip in the net twine it is stretched from the
center when all sides are attached. The net is attached
by hooking it into the clip and then firmly pulling
the net to the next clip.
When
attaching StealthNet, start at one corner and attach
the net in a straight, even row in one direction,
beginning on the top or bottom perimeter line of
the job. Attach one entire length of the perimeter,
preferably the longest run of the job. When installing
the net, be sure to follow the same straight row
of mesh so that when the job is completed everything
is straight and square. After completing one side
of the perimeter, pull the net down to the opposite
side of the perimeter and begin attaching the net
along the line of mesh that squares the net off.
When finished with that side, continue by attaching
the two remaining side of the perimeter. Once all
the sides are attached, trim off any excess netting
with standard scissors. |

to wait AT LEAST 60 SECONDS before
turning it back on.
Programming your Bird Xpeller
To program your Bird Xpeller PRO
unit you will need a small screwdriver,
toothpick or other pointed, rigid
object to toggle the switch array.
The switch arrays are the switch
banks located in the bottom right
corner of the faceplate (inside the
clear front cover). A switch is ON
if the switch is pressed down on
the right side. The switch is OFF
if the left side is pressed down.
Bird Recording Setting Switches
The Bird Recordings Switches are the first eight switches
in Switch Array #1. Each switch has a recording number
to the left of it that corresponds with the birds descriptions
listed on the foil label inside the cover on the front
of the unit. They are as follows:
1. Pigeon 2. Pigeon II/Bird Predator I 3. Starling/Pigeon
III
4. Sparrow 5. Gull I 6. Gull II
7. Woodpecker 8. Bird predator II
Mode Setting Switches
The Mode Setting Switches are the last five switches
in Switch Array #2. These set the various modes of
operation like the amount of time between bird distress
calls, when the unit will operate (day only, night
only or 24 hours) and whether the unit will operate
in the random mode or normal mode.
